Elder brother allegedly stabbed to death his younger brother in a house of capital’s Uttarkhan area yesterday noon, police said.
Officer-in-Charge Yunus Ali of Uttarkhan Police Station confirmed the news saying that the alleged killer was also arrested in this connection.
He said, the deceased was identified as Md Abdul Quadir, 28, son of Md Nurul Haque, an inhabitant of Uttarkhan Kancthkura Barobari,
Police and locals said, elder brother Md Abdul Nadir, 32, attacked his brother with a sharp
weapon following an altercation over taking Yaba tablets as Quadir was behaving roughly with inmates of the house at about 12 noon.
“With critical injuries on his chest, Quadir was rushed to Uttara Modern Medical College Hospital where doctor declared him dead,” OC added.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. A murder case was lodged with police station concerned. Police arrested Nadir on charge of killing his brother.
