Narail Correspondent :Ekush Udjapan Parshad, Narail observed the Language Movement and International Mother Language Day by lighting one lakh candles in the Kurir Dob Field of the town. on Friday ,February 21. President of Sommilito Sangskritik Jote Nasir Uddin Yusuf inaugurated the programme. At the time, Advocate Sheikh Hafizur Rahman MP, wife of Nasir Uddin Yusuf renowned theater personality Shimul Yousuf, Deputy Commissioner A. Ghaffar Khan, Police Super Md. Monir Hossain,wife of Bir Srestha Nur Mohammad Begum Fazilatunnesa, Bhasha Sainik Rizia Khatun, Convener Ekush Udjapan Parshad prof. Munshi Hafizur Rahman and member secretary Kachi Khandakar. It is illuminated by the variety in design, like Shaheed Minar and Bengali alphabet through candles lighting . Marking 64 th anniversary of the language day, 64 Fanush were flown by the different categories of professionals. The media partner of this programme was ‘Masranga TV’. Square group and local organizations to support the program financially.It may be mentioned that Ekush Udjapan Parshad has been observing 21 February in this way for last eighteen years.Bhola Correspondent adds: Dawlatkhan Chhatra Kallyan Foundation (DCKF), a regional social welfare organistion, on Friday observed the International Mother Language day at Dawlatkhan Bazar in Bhola amid placing wreath and bringing out procession to pay homage language martyrs. About one hundred people from all walks of life took part in the rally. The members of DCKF placed floral wreath at the Shaheed Minar near the Dawlatkhan Bazar. In the Morning, they brought out a procession under the banner of DCKF, which paraded different roads of the area. Madan Mahan Suk Deb High School teacher Md Jasim Uddin, cultural personality Nasir Uddin Jewel, Md Sohel Rana and Rakib Uddin, among others took part in the procession. DCKF members said that the language martyrs sacrificed their lives to establish Bengali language as state language. They were patriots. We just paid homage to them. It is our moral duty to remember them.
