Ekushey Padak winner Professor Emeritus Dr Majibur Rahman died of old-age complications at a city hospital on Monday. He was 96.
Dr Rahman was founding professor and departmental head of Blood Transfusion Centre of the then PG Hospital, now Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), former President of Blood Transfusion Society of Bangladesh (BTSB) and member of Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine (AATM).
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor expressed profound shock at the death of Dr Rahman and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
