Amar Ekushey Boi Mela is starting today(sunday) at the gymnasium ground of MA Aziz Stadium in the city.There will be 25 double and 60 single stalls in the boi mela. There will be Bangabandhu Corner, Women Writer’s Corner, Children’s Corner and WiFi Zone.
The boimela will remain open to all from 3 pm to 9 pm every day till March 10.
Convener of the fair, Councilor Nisar Uddin Ahmed Monju said this at a press conference at noon on Friday. He said the entire fair grounds would be covered by CCTV network for the safety of the visitors. There will be reserved seats for the freedom fighters. Every day on the fair stage there will be unveiling of new books and thematic discussion meetings. There are a variety of topics in the discussion meeting. The book fair will not indulge in militancy, liberation war, Bengali culture, anti-independence and anti-Bangabandhu activities and books.
The programs include: Mother Language Day, Folk Festival, Rabindra Festival, Youth Festival, Women’s Festival, Debate Festival, Nazrul Day, Centenary Celebration of Rebel Poetry, Mystic Festival, Recitation Festival, Ethnic Festival, Chatgaon Festival, Youth Festival, Professional Gathering. March discussion and closing ceremony on March 10 with rhyme festival.
Prominent poets, writers, journalists, intellectuals, academics and eminent personalities of the cultural arena will take part in the thematic discussions.
