A charge sheeted accused of the murder case of Phulgazi upazila Chairman Ekramul Haque, was arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from Feni district town on Sunday morning.
He was identified as Md Farooq, son of Khokon Mia, an inhabitant of Farooq Gazi Cross Road of the town, RAB official said.
RAB-7 Company Commander Major Mozammel Hossain said, “A team of the elite force conducted a drive at a house in the area based on secret information around 11:00am and arrested him.” He was the charge sheet listed accused in the murder case, the RAB official said.
The detained person was interrogated in this connection, he said.
Earlier, the Phulgazi Upazila Chairman Ekramul Haque was killed in a daylight attack in Feni town on May 20 last year.
His brother filed a murder case the same day, naming Minar as the prime suspect and accusing around 35 unidentified others. But cop personnel arrested 44 people in this connection.
