A marketing executve of Ekattor Television was killed in a road accident near the Jahangir Gate of the Dhaka Cantonment on Saturday.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kafrul Police Station Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the incident to the journalists.
The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain working with the Ekattor TV.
Eyewitnesses said, a bus of Uttara-bound VIP Paribahan knocked down the motorcycle of Anwar Hossain, 40, while he was going to his office at Baridhara around 10am on Saturday.
Anwar was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital with severe injuries, where duty doctors declared him dead around 12:45pm.
The bus driver Mohammad Sujan was detained and the bus was seized, said SI Abul Kalam Azad.
Special Correspondent of the Ekattor TV Parvez Reza said, the bus driver was driving the bus rampantly. He received severe injuries in many parts of his body. The doctor conducted a surgery, but finally he left us.
