Ejaz, Rebeka emerge champion in visually impaired chess

Ejaz Hossain of BRAC University emerged men’s division champion in the WALTON Special Chess Tournament for visually impaired that concluded on Wednesday at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
Ejaz secured six points to clinch the title while SM Shaheen finished runners-up with five points and Monir Rana bagged the third position also securing five points.
In the women’s division, Rebeka Munshi Shima emerged champion with five points while Sonia Khatun finished as runners-up with four points and Asma Amin stood in third position securing 3.5 points.
Walton sports and welfare division chief FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was the chief guest on the closing day of the meet and distributed the prizes.
A total of 60 players from different parts across the country took part in the meet.
