Eight varsities to get Tk 7.41cr for IQAC

Eight universities of the country included two public and six private will get Taka 7 crore 41 lakh 50 thousand for establishing Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in their respective universities under round four.
The eight universities on Monday signed an agreement with the University Grand Commission (UGC) at a function at UGC auditorium in the city. UGC Secretary Dr Md Khaled signed the agreement on behalf of UGC while representatives of the universities signed the treaty on behalf of their respective institutions.
UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan addressed the agreement signing ceremony as the chief guest while UGC member Professor Dr Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah attended as special guest.
Presided over by the Deputy Project Director Sohel Ahmed, Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) Head of Quality Assurance Unit of UGC Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed delivered the welcome speech.
The universities which signed the agreement are Bangladesh Open University, Bangladesh University of Professionals, University of Development Alternative, Prime University, City University, University of Information Technology and Sciences, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology and Metropolitan University.
UGC Chairman Professor Mannan hoped that the establishment of IQAC at university level will significantly contribute to ensure the quality higher education in the country.
