Fake reports: Eight held from Regent Hospitals in city

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Monday arrested eight individuals from branches of Regent Hospital in Uttara and Mirpur areas in the capital as they were providing fake coronavirus test reports.
Sarowar Alam, magistrate of Rab who conducted the drive confirmed the matter.
“Those who are conducting illegal business over treatment of Covid-19 will be brought to justice at any cost,” he said.
Earlier, a team of RAB-3 conducted a special operation against an organised fraud gang involved in making and selling of fake Covid-19 test certificate in the capital’s Mugda PS area on Monday.
RAB-3 has arrested four persons from the operation and recovered various equipment used in forging Covid-19 certificates.
The arrestees are- Fajal Haque, 40; Md Sharif Hossen, 32; Md Zamshed, 30 and Md Liakat Ali, 43.
The elite force team also recovered 95 copies of fake coronavirus test certificates with different names, two monitors and CPUs, a printer and a scanner from the spot.
The gang worked as a racket producing and selling fake Covid-19 test certificates in exchange of huge amount of money without the actual test.
Those who purchased these certificates used it to join in different offices, and some have already gone abroad showing the fake certificates, which tarnished country’s image in the international arena.
