With due religious fervor, Eid-ul-Fitr , the greatest religious festival of the Muslims was celebrated in different districts on Thursday. Strict security measures were taken around the Eid congregation. Our correspondents and agencies report:
Khulna Correspondent reports: With due religious fervor, Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in Khulna on Thursday.
The main Eid congregation was held at 8am at Khulna Town Jame Mosque at first, at 9 am 2nd and at 10 am 3rd were held.
Though it was supposed to be held the main congregation at Khulna Circuit house ground, but due to wet for heavy rain fall, it was not possible. As such the main Eid congregation was held at Khulna
Town Jame mosque. This decision was taken jointly by Khulna district administration and Khulna City Corporation.
In the first congregation, local law maker of Khulna-2 constituency Mizanur Rahman Mizan, acting Mayor of KCC Anisur Rahman Biswas, Khulna divisional commissioner Md.Abdus Samad, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Nazmul Hasan, District Council Administrator Sheikh Harunur Rashid, Khulna Police Super (SP) Md. Habibur Rahman and others were present.
Besides, BNP City unit leaders including Md. Nazrul Islam Monju & Moniruzzaman Moni and others leaders & activists also offered their Eid prayer accordingly.
Like the previous years, KCC authorities gave gates at 31 wards throughout the city.
Khulna University (KU) and KUET also observed Eid congregation at their campus grounds.
At several mosques of Khalishpur, Daulatpur and other parts of the city Eid congregation were held. At nine upazila areas of Khulna district, Eid congregation were also held as well.
Eid fairs were also arranged at different parts of the city during the Eid festival.
Barisal Correspondent adds: At least 200 Eid jamaat (congressional prayer) were held in Barisal city area this year.
Special arrangements were taken in all the Eid-Jamaat premises for facing monsoon rainfall.
The main Eid- ul- Fitr Jamaat in Barisal would be held on Hemayet Uddin Eidgah Maidan at 8-30 am with participation of the BCC Mayor and other socio-political personalities, high-ranking government officials as well as general mass and female worshipers.
Double Eid Jamaats were arranged in the city centers at Baitun Mamur Mosque, Nuria School Mosque, Mosque and Anjuman Eidgah Maidan, Zame Kashai Mosque, Police Line Mosque and Eabaidullah Mosque between 8:00 – 10:00 am.
Other main Eid prayers of the city were held in Law Collage, BM College, Rice Research Institute, Amanatganj Power House, Zilla School, B M College, Harinafulia, Jailgate, Puran Bakla, Bazaar Road, Brown Compound, Sikdar Para, Sagordi Bazaar, Roads and Highways, Chandmari, C and B, Khan Sharok, Kazipara, B M School, Khaza Mainuddin, Kashipur High School, Steamer Ghat, A Kader Chowdhury School Ground, Natun Bazaar, Battala, Tablig Jamaat Markaj, Kawnia Akon Mosque, Sadhur Battala Ground, Mahmudia Madrasha,Sagordi Madrasha, Kashipur, Hatkhola and other mosques arranged Eid-prayer between 8-00 to 9-30 AM on Eid day.
Except these main Eid Jamaats of the city other large Eid prayers of the region would be held at Guthia Baitul Aman, Charmonai under Barisal , Nesarabad under Jhalakathi, Sharshina under Pirojpur, Mirzaganj under Patuakhali and Sadar Ghat Mosque and Mokamia Madrasha ground under Barguna districts between 7-30 to 9-00 am on Eid day.
Gouripur Correspondent adds: The holy Eid-al-Fitr, the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal and the first largest religious festival of the Muslim Ummah, was celebrated with solemnity across Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district on Thursday.
It marks the end of Ramadan, which is a month of fasting and prayer. Many Muslims attend communal prayers, listen to a khutba (sermon) and give zakat al-fitr (charity in the form of food) during Eid-al-Fitr.
Meanwhile, many people from different places came to their village homes to celebrate the festival with their near endear ones.
 The stage was almost set for smooth holding of Eid prayers in the town of Gouripur and elsewhere. The main Eid congregation was held at Khelar Mathh Eidgah Maidan near the Gouripur Stadium around 9:30 am and the second largest congregation in the town was held at Islamabad Madrasha’s playing ground at 10.10 am being looked after by Gouripur Pourashava.
Important public houses, thoroughfares and road sides of the town were decorated with national flags, gates and banners inscribed with ‘Eid Mubarak’.
Bagerhat Correspondent reports: The holy Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in Bagerhat district town and its all the nine upazilas w on Thursday.
The main and the biggest Eid jamat was held in the historic Saitgumbaz Mosque of great saint Hazrar Peer Khaja Khan Jahan Ali (peace be on him), 8 kilometers away from here. It was attended by thousand of devotee Muslim including Al-haj Dr. Mozammel Hossain, MP of Bagerhat Constituency-4 and Al-haj Adv. Mir Shswkat Ali Badsha, MP of Bagerhat Constituency-2. Eid jamat was also held in Bagerhat central (old court) mosque, Railway mosque, Nagerbazar mosque, Mithapukur mosque, WAPDA mosque, launchghat mosque and all other mosques of the district town. After Eid jamat special prayer was held for the peace, tranquility, integrity and development of the country as well as for Muslim Ummah.
BSS from Rangpur reports: Holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest religious festival of the Muslims, was celebrated befittingly amid tight security measures and with huge enthusiasm, festivity and solemnity on Thursday.
The district, upazila and police administrations adopted comprehensive security measures for holding the Eid jamats peacefully in the city as well as everywhere in the district.
The national flag was hoisted atop all government and private buildings and major mosques, eidgahs, streets and major buildings were illuminated and decorated with colourful flags, banners, miniatures and festoons.
Improved diets were served to the inmates of different hospitals, Rangpur Central Jail, shishu paribars, orphanages and vagabond welfare centres on the Eid day.
Rangpur City Corporation with assistance of the concerned authorities arranged 131 Eid jamaats in all 33 wards of the city.
The main Eid-ul-Fitr jamaat was held at the Central Collectorate Eidgah in the city at 8.30 am with participations of the government high officials, political leaders and dignitaries of the city.
Over 30,000 musollis participated in the main Eid jamat where the concerned authorities set up 17 close circuit cameras along with deployment of adequate members of the law enforcement agencies.
City Mayor Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu, Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University Professor Dr AKM Nurun Nabi, Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hassan Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Rahat Anwar, political leaders, dignitaries of the city, public representatives and professionals participated in the main Eid jamat.
Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range Khondker Golam Faruk, Police Super Abdur Razzaque and high police officials took part in the first Eid-ul-Fitr jamat held at Police Lines School & College ground at 7:45 am.
The biggest Eid-ul-Fitr jamat of the district was held on Taluk Habu Eidgah Maidan under Gangachara upazila where State Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Alhaj Mashiur Rahman Ranga participated.
The bigger Eid Jamats were held at Munshipara Eidgah, Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque, Mandalpara Baro Eidgah, Damodarpur Baro Maidan, Kamal Kachhna Baro Jam-e-Mosque, Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque, Mahiganj Shahi Jam-e-Mosque and Aftabia Eidgah in the city between 8 am and 9 am.
Outside the city, bigger Eid jamats were held at Badarganj Central Eidgah, Badarganj Chandamari Keramotia Jam-e Mosque, Pirgachha Karbala Eidgah, Pirgachha Ahle Hadith Mosque, Kawnia Central Eidgah, Mithapukur Central Eidgah, Taraganj Chowpathi Eidgah and Pirganj Central Eidgah between 8.30 am and 10.30 am.
BSS from Gaibandha reports: Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest religious festival of the Muslims, was celebrated in the district as elsewhere in the country on Thursday with due religious fervor, gaiety, solemnity and in a befitting manner.
The main Eid Congregation was held at Central Eidgah Maidan, adjacent to Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium of the town, at 9 am.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) M Abdus Samad, Gaibandha poura mayor Advocate Shah Masud Jahanagir Kabir Milon, district level officials including, leaders of the political parties, elite of the town, professionals and the journalists joined the congregation.
Mowlana Mufti Mahmudul Hasan, Khatib of Bara Masjid of the town, conducted the Eid prayer.
Another big Eid Jamaat was also held at police lines Jame Mosque.
BSS from Faridpur reports: Eid-ul-Fitr jamaats (congregations) were held this morning at different mosques and eidghas in this district town seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah for peace and prosperity of the country.
The main congregation was held at Chandmari Eidgah where LGRD & Cooperatives Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain attended the prayers.
The minister, in his brief speech, urged all to follow the ideals and tenets of Islam and advised the youths particularly not to be misled by the adventurous activities.
The gathering was also addressed by DC Sardar Sharafat Ali, Upazila Parishad Chairman Kh. Mohtesham Hossain Babor and Pourasabha Mayor Sk. Mahatab Ali Methu.
