Eid -ul-Azha celebrated

With due religious fervor, Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated in Khulna on Tuesday. The main Eid congregation was held at 8am at Khulna Town Jame Mosque at first, at 8 am and 2nd at 10 am were held.
Though it was supposed to be held the main congregation at Khulna Circuit house ground, but due to wet for heavy rain fall, it was not possible. As such the main Eid congregation was held at Khulna.

In the first congregation, local law maker of Khulna-2 constituency Mizanur Rahman Mizan, acting Mayor of KCC Anisur Rahman Biswas, Khulna divisional commissioner Md.Abdus Samad, deputy commissioner (DC) Nazmul Ahsan, district council administrator Sheikh Harunur Rashid, Khulna police super (SP) Md. Habibur Rahman and others were present.
Like the previous years, KCC authorities gave gates at 31 wards throughout the city.
At several mosques of Khalishpur, Daulatpur and other parts of the city Eid congregation were held. At nine upazila areas of Khulna district, Eid congregation were also held as well.
Eid fairs were also arranged at different parts of the city during the Eid festival.
All the parks and recreation points in the city and upazila areas were crowded on the occasion of Eid ul Azha.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: Many people especially the teenagers are still celebrating the Eid festival in the city although the main celebration day was on Wednesday.
They are seen visiting the amusement spots like the bank of the river Padma with joy and enthusiasm turning the spots overcrowded till Friday.
Thousands of people, mostly children, poured in and around the city’s parks, historic places and other recreation centres to enjoy the Eid-ul-Azha.
Shahid AHM Kamaruzzaman Central Park and Zoo, Zia Shishu Park, Varendra Research Museum, BGB Amusement Point, Vadra Park, Padma Garden and Borokuthi amusement point drew huge crowd.
The Central Park and Zoo, the only big amusement place of Rajshahi metropolis, has got a new look with massive development works. Various beautification and development works like lake renovation, approach road, attractive boundary wall and two modern bridges were done on the lake.
In addition to the modernization work, effective measures were taken to procure more new beasts and animals for the zoo.
Mayor-in-Charge of Rajshahi City Corporation Nizam-ul Azim said construction of colourful boundary wall, widening of walkway and sitting places, concretization of Lake Embankment and modernization of picnic corners were completed.
Two 29-meter long and three-meter wide curve bridges were constructed at a cost of Taka 1.36 crore to make the park more attractive to visitors.
Apart from this, every sections of the park-cum-zoo were reshuffled with the main thrust of drawing attention of more visitors.
Children, young boys and girls wearing colorful dresses gathered at these places where small makeshift shops were set up to sell different homemade foods and toys.
Eid gatherings of children and cultural functions were also held at different areas in the city.
This time, Borokuthi Padma River bank and Lalon Shah River Resort were decorated with a new look to attract more visitors.
Meanwhile, tight security measures have been taken to ensure security at the amusement places.
In addition to the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, the district, upazila and police administrations took tight security measures to celebrate the festival in a festive mood.
