Leave of all officials of the shipping ministry and its three agencies has been cancelled to ensure smooth movements of homebound people during Eid through waterway.
State Minister of Shipping Ministry Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury informed this while exchanging views with the officials of the ministry at the Secretariat on Thursday.
“Leave of all the officials of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), Bangladesh Inland Water
Transport Corporation (BIWTC) and Department of Shipping (DoS) has been cancelled due to the flood situation and Eid-ul-Azha celebration,” he said.
The ministry issued an order in this regard. The decision has been taken so that holidaymakers can reach their near and dear ones and return their respective working places after celebrating the Eid through waterways smoothly.
