Like previous year, this year’s Eid congregations is likely to be held in mosques instead of open spaces or Eidgah amid the risk of transmission of coronavirus.
The government is also contemplating to give an instruction for holding Eid-ul-Fitr jamaat in mosques maintaining all health guidelines.
The decision will be finalised on Tuesday after an official meeting, said a source from Religious Affairs Ministry.
The Eid is likely to be held on May 13 or 14, depending on the moon sighting.
Last year, the Eid congregations were held in mosques instead of open spaces due to coronavirus pandemic.
The virus situation in the country is getting worse day by day.
Considering the situation, the government will take the decision, the source said.
