Play-back legend of Bangladesh Andrew Kishore died on July 6. His funeral was held on July 15 in Rajshahi. To pay tribute to this legendary singer, Bangladesh Television has made a special performance by four popular hero and heroines in its Eid Ananda Mela. Its recording was done on the night of July 18. Planned and scripted by Director General of BTV Haroon-or-Rashid and produced by Mohammad Monirul Hasan Eid-ul-Azha’s Ananda Mela has been made.
As Andrew Kishore had a lot of contribution in the play-back songs in the country so four popular film actors Emon, Anchol, Nirob and Airin performed in the special performance in Ananda Mela. Viewers earlier watched Emon and Anchol together in Monirul Islam Sohel’s film Swapno Je Tui. They will be seen to perform with Andrew Kishore’s three popular songs Porena chokher polok, Ei din sei din konodin and Bhengechhe Pinjor melechhe dana in Ananda Mela.
On the other hand, as a pair, Nirob and Airin worked together in Bulbul Jilani’s film Roudro Chhaya. This time viewers will watch them to perform in Andrew Kishore’s two popular songs Tumi mor jiboner bhabna and Bhalo achhi bhalo theko in Ananda Mela.
Emon said, “While performing in that special performance I could not think Andrew Dada is no more among us. He will alive by his songs.”
Anchol shared her feelings by this way, “It’s my pleasure to perform in such a special sequence with the songs of Andrewda. Set of this Eid Ananda Mela became really nice.”
“Earlier I performed in Eid Ananda Mela but this year’s experience was really exceptional because we remembered Andrewda by his songs. His songs really touch our minds,” Nirob said.
Airin said, “For the first time, I performed in Ananda Mela. In the beginning, I became satisfied to perform with songs of Andrew Kishore. Dada will alive for his popular songs among all for many years.”
Producer Monirul Hasan informed that Ananda Mela will be aired on Eid day after News at 10 on BTV. Nusraat Faria will host this year’s Ananda Mela.
It is mentioned that Anchol-starrer film Ragi, Emon-starrer films Akbar-Once Upon A Time in Dhaka, Blood and Sahosi Joddha, Nirob-starrer films Casino, Roudro Chhaya and Officers Returns and Airin-starrer films Roudro Chhaya and Save Life are waiting to release now.
