Eid advance train and bus tickets will be sold from today (Friday).
“We will start selling of advance train tickets for Eid passengers from Friday,” said Railway Minister Mujibul Haque on Thursday while addressing a press briefing at Rail Bhaban in the city.
He said, the tickets will be sold at Dhaka and Chittagong railway stations 12
from 08:00am on August 18 to 22.
The sale of return tickets will start from August 25 in Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Lalmonirhat.
Besides this, the railway officials said, the ministry has arranged 14 special trains for the Eid journey.
Some of the special trains are Rajshahi Special, Parbatipur Special, Chandpur Special-1, Chandpur Special-2, Sholaki Special-1, Sholaki Special-2 and Dewanganj Special.
The officials said also that all intercity trains will run from August 28 to one day before the Eid and weekly holidays.
Meanwhile, the bus tickets also will be sold from today (Friday).
“The advance bus tickets for Eid passengers will be sold from Friday at 06:00 am from the bus counters across the city,” said Khandaker Enayet Ullah, General Secretary of the Bus Owners Association.
Bus employees from the counters said those may be celebrated on September 2. As such the most pressure of passengers may take place on August 30 to 31.
Most of the passengers will leave Dhaka on those days, they added.
