EIB gives Tk 2350cr as loan to support COVID vaccination

As part of conducting the COVID-19 inoculation campaign successfully, the European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide loan of over Taka 2350 crore to Bangladesh aiming to save the lives of the country’s citizens as well as the Rohingyas.
The authority concerned of the government of Bangladesh and Luxemburg, EIB and Friendship jointly held an online video press conference and disclosed the matter, a press release said.
EIB President Dr Werner Hoyer, EIB Vice-President Christian Kettel Thomsen and Founder of Friendship Runa Khan were present, among others, on the occasion. The EIB is providing the loan to strengthen Bangladesh’s healthcare system and support immunisation against COVID-19 so that the prevailing pandemic could come to an end, the release added.
