Eminent educationist and former Professor of Rajshahi University Kayesh Uddin breathed his last at his Talaimary residence in the city on Thursday at the age of 84.
He was also the Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University and Bangladesh Open University.
He left behind his wife, two sons, two daughters and a large number of students, academic colleagues and host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
During his long academic career in the Department of Applied Chemistry and the Department of Biochemistry from 1968 to 2001, Prof Kayesh Uddin supervised many PhD, M. Phil and post-graduation research papers.
Besides, he has a remarkable number of research papers and books at home and abroad to his credit.
His namaz-e-janaza was held at RU central Jam-e Mosque and he was laid to eternal rest at RU graveyard.
