Edn Ministry takes strong steps to check question paper leakage

The government has taken all out preparation to check this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations question paper leakage.
The top bosses of the Education Ministry hope that the upcoming SSC examinations will be held in a peaceful manner.
The SSC and its equivalent examinations are set to begin from February 1.
“All necessary steps have been taken to check the question paper leakage. The influential quarters, who are allegedly involved in question paper leakage, are under surveillance,” Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said.
“No one will dare to do such activities like question paper leakage this year. If anyone desirers to leak question paper, they will be nabbed before they do it,” the minister said.
We have already asked the teachers and officers related to the examination duties not to carry any mobile phone in the examination halls. Only centre secretary will allow carrying normal phone not smart phone, Nahid said.
As part the steps, the ministry closed all coaching centres in the country arguing that in most of the cases the teachers and the employees of the coaching centres are involved in question paper leakage.
The ministry also took the decision to hold the SSC examinations with uniform question papers across the country.
A vast portion of teachers, BG Press employees and members of syndicate have been taken under surveillance to check question papers leakage.
The ministry’s top bosses held several meetings with the senior officials of the law enforcing agencies to take stern action against the people supposed to involve in question paper leakage.
The ministry has also taken decision to dismiss the job of teachers who will help to leak the question paper leakage.
Education Secretary Sohorab Hossain told The New Nation that the specific examination will be cancelled and fresh one will be taken if the authorities find evidence of question paper leak. “We have taken all kinds of measures to prevent question leak.” During collection of the question papers from treasury office, executive magistrate, centre secretary and other officials concerned must be present, he said.
Mobile court will run during the SSC examinations, the secretary said adding that suspicious transaction through bKash will be monitored to prevent question leak, Sohorab Hossain said. He also asked the teachers, the students and the guardians not to help the people involved in question paper leakage.
“I request to all of you (the teachers, the students and the guardians) not to buy any question paper from any quarter. Please help the ministry to curb such evil incident from the country,” the secretary said.
Meanwhile, the Education Minister instructed that the students will have to enter and take seats at their respective centres 30 minutes before the beginning of the tests. Envelope of question papers will not be unsealed before 30 minutes of the examinations.
“If anybody violates this instruction, officials concerned will take instant action against the violators,” Nahid said.
