The Education Ministry is going to install automation software to bring all the files of Directorate of Audit and Inspection (DIA) under digitalisation in order to check all kinds of corruption.
There are widespread allegations of corruption against the DIA officials as they used to force the authorities of educational institutions to pay a very good amount of money during the inspection.
The top bosses of the ministry and the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) said it would be difficult for the DIA officials to resort to corruption after reform.
All the activities done by the DIA officials could be watched from the ministry and DSHE office. So it would be an effective measure to establish transparency in the sector, they said.
Deputy Director of the DIA Bipul Chandra Biswas told The New Nation that the rate of taking bribe from the teachers and the administration of the educational institutions would go down significantly after setting up of the new software.
“The DIA will supply information of the targeted educational institutions to its assigned officials and institutions’ authorities through e-mail. All the activities of the inspection will be observed from the ministry. No one could hide any information,” he said.
“And even no body could be able to subtract or add any information without the concern of the software’s admin,” Bipul Chandra Biswas said.
About the expenditure of the digitalization process, he said, a very small amount of money will be required. “We will start the activities from the ongoing month with five employees only and they will get necessary training. We will buy some high speed scanner machines and the employees will transfer the old files to the website,” he said.
The DSHE sources said, the DIA was established in 1980 with a view to identifying the irregularities of the educational institutions like schools, colleges and madrasas across the country.
The Education Ministry got many reports on corruption and took quick actions against many educational institutions in the past. But in the recent times, the DIA officials and employees have been involved with different types of corruptions. They took bribe from the faulty institutions and submitted clean reports. Sometimes, a good number of officials and employees hided the files taking huge money.
When the unfair practices were exposed, the ministry transferred many officials and took actions against them.
Finally, the ministry has taken plan to check all types of corruption charges through online forever.
