Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has received death threat through short message service (SMS) of his mobile phone.
Subodh Chandra Dhali, deputy secretary of the education ministry, on Sunday told the media that the minister received the death threat on his cell number from an unknown number last Wednesday.
A general diary was filed with the Ramna Police Station in the city in this connection. Manthan Ranjan Baroi, assistant private secretary of the minister, lodged a general diary on Thursday.
Bringing some allegations on country’s
education systems against Nurul Islam Nahid, unidentified miscreants sent the death threat. “We shall kill you wherever we find you. We shall attack your sons, wife and daughter, and relatives. Life will be very difficult for you,” read the text message.
The message reads: “Inefficient physicians are being created due to question paper leakage, illegal raising of marks in exam scripts, resulting in deaths in wrong treatment. So, you (Nahid) will be killed.”
