Speakers at a discussion meeting stressed on making indigenous people educated in order to ensure their rights.
The discussion meeting was arranged on Tuesday in observance of the International Indigenous People Day-2016 at a school named Rajbari High School under Nachole upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
Committee of the Concerned Citizen (CCC), Chapainawabganj of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) arranged the meeting withthe association of the School Managing Committee.
It was held on the school premises with the president of the CCCSelina Begum in the chair. Vice Chairman of the Nachole Upazila Parishad Protima Rani attended the function as chief guest while chairman of Nachole Union Parishad Md. Enayetullah and president of the School Managing Committee Chabilal Barmon attended as special guests.

Golam Rashid and Prof Umme Salma Happy spoke on the occasion.
The speakers stressed on building up awareness among the aborigine
people about their rights and duties. They also asked the aborigine
people to stop taking drugs, early marriage and women repression.
They asked the government to take initiatives to ensure financial
security, healthy atmosphere to live, entertainment facilities and
separate educational institutions for learning own language for the
aborigine people.
Before the discussion, a colourful procession was taken out from the school
and after parading the main roads of the area it ended at the same
venue.
After the discussion, prize distribution of essay and quiz competitions
were held.
Later, an anti-corruption drama, choreography, and songs were presented.
The slogan of the day was ‘Right to Education of the Aborigines.’
