Edn Bill to be finalised soon, Nahid tells JS

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Monday said the draft of the Education Bill is at the final stage and it will be sent to the Cabinet Division soon for approval.
 “As part of implementing the National Education Policy 2010, the draft of the
Education Bill is now at final stage,” Nahid said while replying to lawmakers’ queries in the Parliament.
In a scripted answer, the Education Minister also said there is no scope for any discrimination in providing education in public and private educational institutions.
In reply to another query, he informed the House that 80 percent Assistant Teachers would get an opportunity to be Assistant Headmasters.
 “80 per cent instead of 50 per cent assistant teachers will get promotion as Assistant Headmasters as the government has revised the Bangladesh Civil Service Recruitment Rules-1981,” he said.
The Minister said, the government has taken training programme on creative affairs for bringing creativity among the teachers while they are engaging in teaching.
He also added that, around 78,000 teachers have already received training on creative affairs.
The Minister also informed the House that the post of assistant teachers of the government secondary schools already has upgraded to second class which would increase their social status and financial facilities.
