The body of a student of Eden Mohila College was found hanging from the Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall’s reading room on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Jannatul Ferdous, a third-year student of Chemistry Department.
Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall Superintendent Ferdousi Begum said, the body was found hanging from a ceiling fan of the reading room on Thursday morning. “Students informed the staff after spotting the body. Teachers reported the matter to the police.”
On information, police recovered the body at about 10:00 am and sent it to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Lalbagh Police Station Kamaluddin, said the reason behind the death could not be identified.
The students of the college said Ferdous was involved with the politics of Bangladesh Chhatra League, college unit.
