Newly appointed ambassador of Ecuador to Bangladesh (Non-Resident) Mentor Villagomez presented credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the President praised the progress of Ecuador in the fields of infrastructural development, education and climate change and said Bangladesh will be benefited through sharing their experiences in this regard, President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.
Abdul Hamid recalled his G-77 experience of sharing common platform with Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa Delgado in Bolivia last year.
He said Bangladesh and Ecuador hold similar views in various international forums and have been working together to establish global peace.
Appreciating the appointment of Mentor Villagomez as first Ecuadorian ambassador to Bangladesh, Abdul Hamid said this appointment would help strengthen the relations between the two countries and, trade and investment will also be expanded.
