Election Commission office of Chattogram urges to remove the compliments
related posters, banners of the intending candidates in coming CCC election by midnight yesterday.
Chattogram Zonal Election officer Md. Hasanuzzaman disclosed it while exchanging views with the local journalists yesterday morning. He asked the aspirants to remove these type of complimentary banners, posters, festoons, wall writing, blessing prayer, pandal , gate(arch), eliminations by this midnight by own initiatives.
He said if the intending candidates fail to remove these election related materials from the public places, EC will take disciplinary action against the respective candidates after finalization of the nomination papers. In this connection, an official letter also issued with directives for removing the election publicity matters by the Returning officer & Zonal Election Officer.
On the other hand, the intending candidates did not know about this directives while procuring the nomination papers from the EC office. Last date of submitting nomination paper fixed Februalry 27 next and Election scheduled to be held on March 29 next. Voting will be held through EVM, EC office said.
