Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Saturday said Bangladesh economy is witnessing a massive progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and none will be able to hinder this progress.
Speaking at the inaugural programmes of a garment factory at Adamjee EPZ, the commerce minister said the country’s law and order is normal now though some militant attacks took place in the recent past. The law enforcers have taken steps to combat militancy and some militants have already been killed, he added.
He said as per the government’s plan country’s total export earnings will stand at US$60 billion and urged all to work sincerely to achieve this target.
US ambassador Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, BEPZA executive chairman Major General Muhammad Habibur Rahman Khan, managing director of Bitopi Minar Ali were present at the programme.
Bitopi Group has set up the environment friendly ‘Remy Holdings Limited’ at a cost of Tk 133 crore and around 1500 people are working there.
