A project of Chittagong city corporation titled Infrastructure Development at the tune of Tk.120 crores was approved in the meeting of ECNEC duly presided by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina .
The project works include repair of 189 roads, construction of one foot bridge, renovations of drains, two culverts and one girder bridge.
The DPP was formulated with the advices of Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Expatriate Welfare Minister Nurul Islam Bsc, Ziauddin Bablu MP, Dr.Afsarul Amin MP, Moinuddin Khan Badal MP, Didarul Alam MP and MA Latif MP. Chief Engineer of CCC Lt.Col.Mohiuddin Ahmed confirmed the news of approval of the project by ECNEC.
CCC sources said another city development project with estimated cost of Tk.604 crores will be placed in next ECNEC meeting.
JSC exam starts peacefully: The first day of Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinations under the Chittagong Education Board (CEB) ended peacefully on Wednesday.
On the first day, around 2,903 students were absent in the Bangla first paper examination in different centers of four districts under the CEB, board sources said.
A total of 1, 70, 790 students took part in the JSC examinations under CEB this year from 1,212 educational institutions through 218 examination centers.
Adequate numbers of vigilance teams, consisting of officials of CEB, were deputed in different centers to check any sort of unfairness or irregularities.
Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Zillur Rahman Chowdhury, CEB Chairman Prof Shaheda Islam, along with officials of district administration visited different examination centers in the city.
CEB controller Prof Mahbub Hasan said the examination was held in a peaceful manner as the authority has taken all necessary steps in this regards.
