ECNEC approves Bakalia access road costing Tk. 206 cr

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday approved Bakalia Access road in Chittagong with a total outlay of Taka 206 crores.
The approval came at the meeting of the ECNEC held in the NEC conference room in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar with ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
This was disclosed by the chairman of Chittagong Development Authority Abdus Salam on Tuesday to the media persons after arrival from Dhaka attending the ECNEC meeting.
He said after implementation of the Bakalia access road , the city people will reach the important govt office locations in court building, police headquarters and Shah Amanat bridge within few minutes .
The 60feet wide Access road will connect Shah Amanat bridge road from Chandanpura via Bakalia Bagarbill .
CDA Chairman said following the approval of this access road, the long felt dream of the people of Chittagong is fulfilled .
 He disclosed that this access road was proposed in the master plan of 1995 .
He further said Prime Minister has directed the CDA for undertaking project for constructing elevated expressway from Tigerpass to Airport.
