The Election Commission has asked the education ministry to complete all annual exams by Dec 10 across Bangladesh ahead of the general election.
“All annual exams will have to be completed before Dec 10 so that more than 41,000 polling stations are ready for the polls,” EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed told the media after a meeting on Wednesday.
“The election schedule will be announced within a week. The Election Commission has already completed all the preparations to hold the polls,” said Ahmed.
The election to the 11th parliament must be held within 90 days of the expiry of the 10th parliament. Accordingly, the next general election will be held between Oct 30 and Jan 28.
