The Election Commission (EC) is committed to the Nation to hold the upcoming parliamentary polls in a free and fair manner, which will be acceptable to all, EC Secretary Helaluddin Ahmad said yesterday.
“Holding the Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament) election needs a huge pool of works. The commission (EC) is committed to the Nation to hold a free and fair election,” Helaluddin Ahmad said in a briefing for top police officials at EC Bhaban on Thursday.
The EC Secretary said, police are one of the major forces to maintain law and order stability, which will pave the way to hold a free and fair election.
“We hope that holding a free and fair election will be possible by their (Police) cordial endeavors,” he said.
He said the commission has appointed some 600 executive magistrates across the country for maintaining law and order stability with the assistance of police.
He said the EC will brief executive magistrates on November 24, 25 and 26.
