Amidst a growing cacophony of protests against violence and irregularities in the ongoing union council polls, two centres under Raipura Upazila of Narsinghdi have registered a 100 percent casting, leaving the Election Commission in a tizzy.
“This is impossible”, said Election Commissioner Md Shah Nawaz speaking to bdnews24.com and added that, “there is no chance that all votes in a centre can ever be cast.”
The rather bizarre incidents have been reportedfrom two centres in Char Aralia Union Parishad.
Although the returning officers did not report any anomaly, much to the displeasure of the EC, the vanquished candidate has however registered a complaint in this regard with the EC.
Primary results indicate a victory for the Awami League in both the centres in question.
