The Election Commission has sent a letter to the Public Administration Ministry to withdraw Gurudaspur upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) and also the officer-in-charge (OC) of Gurudaspur Police Station.
A letter signed by Md Shahidur Rahman, assistant secretary to EC secretariat, was sent to the
ministry on Wednesday and asked it to provide information within three working days after appointing new officials to the respective posts.
The commission took the decision following a written complaint filed by Zahidul Islam, Awami League-nominated chairman candidate for the upcoming upazila parishad election.
Meanwhile, the copies of the letter reached the offices of Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Natore on Thursday, sources at both the offices said.
