Staff Reporter: The Election Commission on Tuesday asked the returning officer of Dhaka North City Corporation to take necessary steps over the attack on BNP mayor candidate Tabith Awal in Gabtoli area on the day.
The EC gave the directive to Returning Officer Abul Kashem after a meeting of the constitutional body was held following the attack on Tabith Awal, EC Secretary Mohammad Alamgir said journalists.
The EC secretary said that after coming under attack, Tabith lodged a complaint and the returning officer has been asked to take necessary steps through investigation into the allegation.
Tabith came under attack by a group of miscreant during his campaign in Gabtoli area.
