BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday said that the Election Commission, administration and judiciary are trying to create an unbelievable situation to destroy democracy.
The BNP leader said there is no sign of fair election.
He also questioned about High Court’s authority to make the polls candidates invalid.
“What we can say about the courts order to cancellations of our candidates’ candidature? The same court order different about different party’s candidates,” Mirza Fakhrul said it in a press conference at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office.
“As an example, you see, the candidature of BNP nominated candidate Tahsina Rushdir Luna in Sylhet -2 was declared disqualified after the Election Commission declared her nomination valid. The court is intentionally cancelling the candidatures of BNP for 11th parliament polls.” he said.
“In January5, election, 2014, Awami League leaders became unopposed MPs in 154 constituencies. The ruling party is being failed to do so this time and thus it rejecting BNP candidates using the state organs.” Mirza Fakhrul said.
He said 15 candidates contesting with ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ have been kept in jail while fates of 25 candidates are still pending with the court.  
Fakhrul said the members of different law enforcement agencies has taken an anti-BNP stance ahead of the election are engaged in putting barricades on the way of carrying out election campaign of the BNP candidates.
The election scheduled for December 30.
BNP Secretary General said, “We are noticing that the EC and police administration have formed an alliance and destroyed the election atmosphere. We are worried over their role.”
“The ensuing election has already been turned into a farce and mockery due to the EC’s subservient role. The law enforcement agencies also are playing the same,” the BNP leader said.
