Ebtedayee madrasa teachers demand salary in pay scale

Ebtedayee madrasa teachers demanded salary in accordance with the national pay scale describing them as worthy for eliminating militancy and communalism from the country.
They made the demand on Saturday at a meeting in Sagor-Runi auditorium of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) here.
With president of Ebtedayee Madrasa Teachers’ Association (EMTA) Alhajj Kazi Ruhul Amin in the chair, the meeting was also addressed by Awami Ulama League president Maulana Ilias Hossain Bin Helali, EMTA secretary general Maulana Moklesur Rahman and SM Joynul Abedin Jihadi.
Maulana Mokhlesur Rahman said they are 34,410 teachers in 6,882 ebtedayee madrasas across the country and they are living inhuman life as each of the teachers get only Tk 1,000 from the government.
The speakers demanded kindness of the government considering the subhuman life they have been living for a long and said that there is no substitute of the grassroots alems to eliminate militancy and communalism from the country.
