Eastern Bank Limited won the Best Retail Bank in Bangladesh award for 2017 by Singapore-based The Asian Banker. Managing Director and CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar and Head of Consumer Banking Nazeem A Choudhury received the award on behalf the bank at The Asian Banker’s International Excellence in Retail Financial Services 2017 Awards ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan on Friday, said a press release.
The Excellence in Retail Financial Services Award program is run on a completely neutral basis and unfunded over a 3-4 month period, involving a team of researchers assessing over 160 financial institutions internationally. EBL has the honor of winning this coveted award for five consecutive years- starting from 2013.
About 200 senior bankers from award-winning banks in 29 countries across the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa attended the glittering event that recognizes their efforts in bringing superior products and services to their customers. The awards program, administered by The Asian Banker and refereed by prominent global bankers, consultants and academics, is the most prestigious of its kind.
