The touring Sri Lanka posted an easy six-wicket win over Bangladesh in the third and last ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.Sri Lanka clinched the three-match ODI series 3-0.Chasing Bangladesh’s score of 240 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs, Sri Lanka romped home in 47.3 overs making 246 for the loss of four wickets. Sri Lanka faced an early debacle as the islanders lost two wickets for 60 runs.Later, Kusal Perera and Dinesh Chandimal rescued their team from danger adding together 138 runs in the third wicket stand before Kusal Perera was cleanly bowled out by medium pacer Rubel Hossain when the tourists score was 198 for the loss of three wickets.Kusal Perera knocked a marvelous 106 from 124 balls with five sixes and six fours.After dismissal of Kusal Perera, Chandimal’s innings was short-lived as he was caught behind by Anamul Haque off Rubel Hossain when the islanders total was 205 for the loss of four wickets. Chandimal hit a bright 64. His 70-ball innings was decorated with four fours.SM Priyanjan and Angelo Mathews remained unbeaten with 22 and 20 runs respectively.Mahmudullah Riyad and Rubel Hossain bagged a pair of wickets each for 38 and 69 runs respectively.Earlier, Bangladesh made a modest start losing two wickets for 62 runs.Then promising Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim contributed 46 runs in the third wicket stand before Mominul Haque was run out by Kithuruwan Vithanage when Bangladesh’s score was 108 for the loss of three wickets.Mominl Haque hit a run-a-ball 60 with eight fours.Later, Naeem Islam and Nasir Hossain added together 54 runs for the fifth wicket partnership before Naeem Islam was caught at the midwicket by Dhammika Prasad off Sachitra Senanayake when the team’s total was 184 for the loss of five wickets.Nasir Hossain notched up his team’s second highest score making 38 from 43 balls including four fours.Naeem Islam, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shamsur Rahman and Shohag Gazi added 32, 30, 25 and 23 runs respectively to the Bangladesh total.Dhammika Prasad grabbed three wickets at the cost of 49 runs while Suranga Lakmal bagged two wickets in the space of 24 runs and Thisara Perera got one wicket conceding 39 runs.
