Easy win for Dhaka Platoon in Bangabandhu BPL

Dhaka Platoon posted an easy eight-wicket win over Sylhet Thunder in their Twenty20 match of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday.
Chasing Sylhet Thunder’s 174 for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs, Dhaka Platoon romped home making 175 for the loss of two wickets when they had nine balls to spare.
Dhaka Platoon made a good start as openers Anamul Haque and Tamim Iqbal put on together 58 runs before Anamul Haque was caught by Andre Fletcher off Mosaddek Hossain.
Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal remained unbeaten with 60. His 49-ball terrific innings was laced with five fours and two sixes.
After dismissal of Anamul, Tamim Iqbal and Mahedi Hasan built a worthy partnership. They contributed together 87 runs for the second wicket partnership before Mahedi Hasan was bowled out by Ebadat Hossain when Dhaka Platoons’ total was 145 for the loss of two wickets.
Mahedi Hasan hammered a windy 56. His 28-ball knock was ornamented with three sixes and five fours.
After departure of Mahedi, Tamim Iqbal and Jaker Ali guided their team to reach the victory target.
Opener Anamul Haque hit a fine 32. His 23-ball innings was studded with five fours.
Jaker Ali remained unbeaten with 22. He hit three fours and a sixer in his 11-ball knock.
Eabadat Hossain and Mosaddek Hossain of Sylhet Thunder got one wicket each conceding 24 and 30 runs respectively.
Earlier, Sylhet Thunder had a shaky start as opener Andre Fletcher was caught & bowled for a duck when Sylhet’s score naught.
After Fletcher’s removal, Johnson Charles and Abdul Mazid repaired the early danger adding together 51 runs in the second wicket stand before Abdul Mazid (8) was caught by Mahedi Hasan off Shahid Afridi when Sylhet’s score was 51 for the loss of two wickets.
After dismissal of Abdul Mazid, Johnson Charles and Mohammad Mithun contributed together 42 runs for the third wicket partnership before Charles was caught by Asif Ali off Shadab Khan when Sylhet’s total was 93 for the loss of three wickets.
Charles hit a hurricane 73. His 45-ball innings had saw eight sixes and three fours.
After Charles departure, Mosaddek Hossain (2) was caught by Shadab Khan from a delivery of Shahid Afridi when Sylhet’s score was 109 for the loss of four wickets.
Then Mohammad Mithun and SE Rutherford put on together 65 runs for the unbroken fifth wicket partnership.
Mohammad Mithun remained unbeaten with 49. He hit four sixes and a four in his 31-ball knock.
Rutherford remained unbeaten with 38. His 28-ball innings saw two sixes and three fours.
Shahid Afridi bagged two wickets at the cost of 26 runs while, Shadab Khan and Mahedi Hasan took one wicket each for 23 and 33 runs respectively.
Mahedi Hasan was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
