Bangladesh Premier League: Easy win for Dhaka Dynamites

Dhaka Dynamites composed an easy 32-run victory over Comilla Victorians in their match of the AKS Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.
Electing to bat first, Dhaka Dynamites piled up a mammoth total of 170 for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs and then restricted Comilla Victorians to 138 for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.
Dhaka Dynamites made a brisk start as Mehedi Maruf and Kumar Sangakkara, the two openers put on 38 in the opening stand before Mehedi Maruf was stumped out by Liton Das off Nabil Samad.
Then Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene contributed 45 runs for the second wicket stand before Sangakkara was bowled out by Rashid Khan when Dhaka’s score was 83 for the loss of two wickets.
After dismissal of Sangakkara, Mahela could stay at the crease for a short period as he was bowled out by Rashid Khan when Dhaka’s total was 95 for the loss of three wickets.
After departure of Mahela, Shakib Al Hasan and Mosaddek Hossain built the highest partnership. They put on together 46 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Mosaddek Hossain was caught behind by Liton Das off Sohail Tanvir when Dhaka’s score was 141 for the loss of four wickets.
Shakib Al Hasan remained unbeaten with 41. His 26-ball superb innings was laced with four fours and a sixer.
Sangakkara hit a polished 33 from 28 balls featuring four fours, while Jayawardene knocked a fine 31 off 27 balls including four fours.
Mosaddek Hossain and Mehedi Maruf added 25 and 22 runs respectively to the Dhaka’s total.
Rashid Khan bagged a pair of wickets at the cost of 26 runs, while Sohail Tanvir and Nabil Samad took one wicket each conceding 16 and 36 runs respectively.
Later, Comilla’s batsmen failed to build any notable partnership. They lost their wickets in regular intervals.
Khalid Latif and Ahmed Shehzad of Comilla Victorians fought back against the controlled bowling attack of Dhaka Dynamites.
Khalid Latif knocked a heroic 38. His 33-ball innings was belted with four fours and a sixer.
Ahmed Shehzad hit a run-a-ball 22.
Dwayne Bravo of Dhaka Dynamites grabbed three wickets at the cost of 22 runs, while Nasir Hossain, Mohammad Shahid, Abu Jayed, Shakib Al Hasan and Seekkuge Prasanna picked up one wicket each for four, six, 20, 30 and 30 runs respectively.
Shakib Al Hasan was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
