An easy bike driver was allegedly strangulated to death in a Kaliganj village. The body of the driver was recovered from a sugarcane plot at Molakoa village of Rakhalgacchhi union of Kaliganj on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Khokan Das, 27, son of Shyamkumar Das of Barabhatpara village of the upazila.
Kaliganj police officer Sub inspector Imran Alam said, Khokan Das was missing since Wednesday afternoon last when he left the house with his three-wheeler. The mouth of the deceased was tied and was strangulated to death by the miscreants. A neighbor Sudev Das identified the body of Khokan Das.
The police suspected the miscreants might kill Khlkan Das to mug his easy bike. As Khokan had identified the miscreants, they had no other way except killing the driver. A case was filed with Kaliganj police station in this connection. The body was sent to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital morgue for post mortem examination, the sub inspector said.
