Islami Bank East Zone took an overall 101 runs lead over BCB Nortch Zone after the end of second day’s play of four-day Bangladesh Cricket League held on Sunday at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No 2 Ground, Savar.
Back with a narrow 22 runs first innings lead, East Zone started their second innings on the second day (Sunday) and again faced batting jolt as they scored 79 for 3 in 21 overs at stumps.
National discards Rajin Saleh and Alok Kapali were on the crease with 9 and 1 runs as the bails were drawn for the day.
Taijul Islam, Farhad Reza and Shuvasish Roy took one wicket each conceding 19, 22 and 28 runs respectively.
Earlier, East Zone resumed their first innings on the second day and dismissed at 270 in 83 overs.
Taijul Islam caused the major damage for East Zone taking seven wickets giving away 71 runs Sohrawardi Shuvo captured two wickets conceding 66 runs.
In reply, BCB North Zone started their first innings on the second day’s morning and dismissed at 248 for all in 68 overs.
Nabil Samad was the pick of East Zone bowler taking six wickets conceding 69 runs.
