UNB, Dhaka :
British High Commissioner in Dhaka Alison Blake on Tuesday assured Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali of looking into how the country can ease the visa process.
The issue came up as the newly-appointed diplomat met Ali in his office to discuss bilateral issues.
The foreign minister requested the British envoy to ease visa process for Bangladeshi citizens during
the meeting that also envisaged various other bilateral issues and avenues of future cooperation, according to a press release of the ministry.
In response, the High Commissioner assured Ali of “every possible support” to further ease the visa process, it said. The Foreign Minister termed the UK as a tested old friend of Bangladesh, it said.
He also recognised the role of Bangladeshis living in the UK in strengthening relations between the two countries.
