Earthquake jolts country twice in 12 hours

Bangladesh was jolted by earthquakes twice in a span of 12 yours from Sunday afternoon.
A moderate earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale was first felt in the capital and other parts of the country at 4:46pm on Sunday, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The epicentre of the earthquake was in the India-Myanmar border region, about 279 kms east of Dhaka, it said.
The 2nd quake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scaleshook the country at 4:40am on Monday.
The epicentre of the jolt was in the India-Myanmar border region, about 301 kms southeast of Dhaka, the BMD said.
However, no causalities were reported yet.
