To build awarness on workplace safety an workshop on earthquake and fire safety was held in Adamjee EPZ on Monday.
Adamjee Export Processing Zone and Fire Service & Civil Defence jointly organized this workshop and fire drill.
Md Shah Alam Sarkar, General Manager of Adamjee EPZ inagurated the workshop. Major AKM Shakil Newaz, Director (Operation and Maintanance) Fire Service & Civil Defence was the main speaker of this workshop.
The workshop focused on earthquake awareness, fire safety & first aid, management/ strategic side of fire and earthquake prevention. An awarness drill was conducted by Major AKM Shakil Newaz after the workshop. Representative of different industries of Adamjee EPZ participated in the awareness workshop.
Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations) said, ‘officers of EPZs are trained for preventing fire incidents; because regular training will increase the awarness of the owner/management and workers which will reduce the loss of life and property including prevent accidents also. In this view gradually this type of awareness workshop will be organized in other EPZs, she added.
Among others Shariful Islam, Manager (Commercial Operation) of Adamjee EPZ and other officers of the concern zone were present in the workshop.
