A woman was crushed and two others were injured as an earthen wall of a house collapsed on them at Battalia Para area under Sadar union in Pekua upazila on Friday noon. The deceased was identified as Dilowara Begum, 35, daughter of Amir Ali of the area.
The injured are: Abu Taher, the deceased’s brother, and Renowara Begum, wife of her another brother Abul Hossen. At 2pm on Friday, the victims were renovating the house when the wall crushed on them, leaving Dilowara dead on the spot and two others injured.
Locals rushed the injured to Pekua Upazila Health Complex. Of them, the condition of Renowara is critical, and she was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pekua Police Station Md Mostafiz Bhuiyan confirmed the incident.
