A 15-year-old school girl was saved from early marriage bid with the interference of the upazila Nirbahi Officer in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi district on Tuesday night.
The ninth-grade girl Mim Khatun, daughter of Joynal Ali of Rahmanpur union under Bagatipara Union in Natore district was ready to arrange the wedding with Sohan Ali, 16, son of Nazrul Islam of Digha village under Bagha upazila of the district on the night.
Being informed, upazila nirbahi officer Shahin Reza reached the house of Sohan Ali with police force.
Later, they foiled their attempt and took a bond from the both of girl and boy’s parents.
