Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq on Sunday said each freedom fighter will get Tk 62,500 before the Eid-ul-Azha.
The amount includes festival allowance arrears of last Eid, allowances of three months and the festival bonus for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
The minister said this while addressing a meeting with representatives of freedom fighters at his office, said a PID handout.
The minister said the present government belongs to the spirit of the Liberation War. “The government has been working relentlessly for the welfare of the freedom fighters.”
He said, the government has increased the allowances for the freedom fighters thrice and introduced festival allowances like service holders. Former Vice President of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Central Command Council Ismat Kadir Gama, freedom fighters M Alauddin Miah, Delwar Hossain Khan were, among others, present.
