E-service introduced at Textile Directorate

The directorate of textile on Tuesday introduced ‘e-service’ making registration and other services available online for entrepreneurs.
Textile and Jute Minister Imaj Uddin Pramanik formally inaugurated the ‘e-service’ at a function at Jute Diversification Promotion Centre (JDPC) conference room in the city, said an official release.
Financed by Access to Information (a2i) Programme Service Innovation Fund, the ‘e-service’ was introduced under the project ‘Online One Click Registration and Other Service Delivery by Directorate of Textile by Developing an E-Centre Network Using ICT.’
Director General of Prime Minister’s Office and a2i Project Director Kabir Bin Anwar, Director of Directorate of Textile Ismail Hossain, BJMEA Vice-Chairman M Nasir, BKMEA Director Kamal Pasha, Diploma Textile Engineers President Shafiqur Hossain, BJEPMEO Chairman Kadir Khan and Bangladesh Textile University Vice-Chancellor Masud Ahmed were present at the function, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, the jute minister said the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is pledge-bound to implement the dream of digital Bangladesh by 2021.
With this in view, a number of programmes have been taken for the expansion of textile sector, he added.
The minister opined that it is possible to make Bangladesh a middle-income country by 2021 by expanding the market, earning foreign currency and creating employments by making use of the government policies and plans.
