The government is going to organize e-Commerce fair in the four divisional cities in April this year to encourage people to online buy and sale of various goods.
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held at the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division today with its Additional Secretary Kamal Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
As per decision, a three-day e-Commerce fair will be in Rajshahi tentatively in the first week of April and in Barisal, Khulna and Rangpur respectively in the next consecutive weeks.
Managing Director of Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority Hosne Ara Begum, Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director S M Ashfaque Hussain, Joint Secretaries of ICT Division Gazi Mijanur Rahman, Shyama Prasad Bepari and Sushanta Kumar Saha, Export Promotion Bureau Director General Salahuddin Mahmud and representatives of Bangladesh Association of Software Information and Services (BASIS), Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL) were present at the meeting.
Kamal Uddin Ahmed said the fair will showcase the e-services developed by different public and private organizations during the last five years and project e-Commerce activities including online buy and sale of goods.
