‘Illegal structures to be removed from highways soon’

Staff Reporter :The government has taken massive plan to remove the illegal establishments on highways lying for years. Kitchen and cattle markets, hawkers’ makeshift pavilions, tea stalls and other structure on the Dhaka-Tangail, Dhaka-Mymensingh, Dhaka-Chittagong and Jashore-Khulna highways are hindering the traffic movement and causing accidents almost every day, the Road Transport and Bridges Ministry source said.The Ministry took many initiatives to remove the illegal structures in the past, but did not work due to defiance by the vested quarter....
